Full Swing

Well school has come again! It is going to be the 6th week of school next week. TIME FLIES.. seriously. I have about 65 students spread out over 3 classes, and I'm really loving it. Each student is already dear to me, and (proud moment) I knew everyone's name around the 3rd day of school. The students have given me nothing major to complain about because this year I have some amazing children. I hope they are in for the long ride to the STAAR! We got this :)

Labor Day weekend

I think I could live at the bay. I love going out on the water in the boats and everything else. I'm having such a wonderful time in Port Alto. I'm so glad the boy asked me to come. I had some gorgeous sunburned places and battle scars on my feet from getting in the water at shell beach. Whoohoo

Niece is a professional model

Today, my sister needed a test subject so that she could test out changing the aperture (??) on her camera.  While we were taking a few shots, someone got jealous and had to jump in.  LOVE IT!  So I ended up getting bunch of new pics of me and the niece.  **Keep in mind that we had no idea we were going to do this--We did not dress up! Don't judge!

Classroom

Well my classroom is coming along! I'm very excited about that! 

My sister and I are using extra desks in the middle of the desks so make a supply areas. I like the thought of the students being a community of leathers and having to work together. I'm ready for the school year... Almost!!!

Summer funnnnn

This summer has been so amazing! If you're ever looking for a good blog to follow, my sister and my cousin have a photography business called Michelle Marie Photography! It's a great price for some quality photos. 

I'm actually helping my sister take some photos of one of my favorite little munchkins today, jackson, who is turning One! It's so crazy how fast babies grow up! My niece, Emmarie, just turned two on June, and it feels like I just held her at the hospital for the first time. UNREAL! 

Today, I am also babysitting a cute little baby for a couple of hours named Jayden. I've spent a lot of time with this little guy this summer. I will add some photos so you can fall in love! Even Emmy loves to kiss on him!

I also recorded a gorgeous song with a buddy of mine, Matt last night. I brought Emmy with me because she and Layla, Matt & Nicole's daughter, love to play. That was a blast I'm sure!

The end is near

I have a conference and a workshop coming, so I know the end of summer is near. I'm about to lose it thinking about all the new kids coming to my class next year. My class next year and I had such an awesome connection, and I hope and pray that I have this with my next class. 

Summer is the best time of year. I read a funny quote that said, "Summer is the one of year when teachers get to eat lunch like normal people".  That's so true and hilarious!

Cruise on July 11-15

So I just got back on Monday from a fantastic cruise to Cozumel. My family went to Margaritaville while we were there. Fun fun fun!! I wanted to post a few pictures of my favorite moment. Can't wait for #5 cruise next time!

Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred!

Okay so I'm going to blab about this workout DVD! It was amazing... ly hard. Haha. I made a funny. It really wasn't that bad. Ashley, my older sister wanted me to try it, and it was great. I like how it has all the different types of workouts in one and lasts for only 20 minutes. 

I will let you know if I stick with it and howwwwww amazing I look.

Liking someone new

Being an adult and having a crush is so different than having a crush in school. I was fearless in my younger days. I was the little girl that kissed every little boy and had lists of boys I liked in first grade. That's CRAZY! 

Well now I may have another crush, and I can't even breathe. Being an adult is supposed to be awesome. I'm so open and crazy with my best friends but not very crazy (until you get to know me) with the people I like. 

Come on BRIT!! It seems like it might be helpful if the guy wasn't a shyer kind of guy as well in yucky love stuff because then we might actually get something done. Ha! Well I'll keep ya posted!

Sharing

As the blabbermouth I am, I must say I don't have a lot of secrets right now. I did find out today (3 DAYS AFTER IT HAPPENED) that Finn from Glee DIED. I thought it must have been a joke or a TV show prank just because they are all so young. BUT IT WAS TRUE. Corey, real name of Finn, was 31 and had drugs in his system in a Vancouver hotel. Also, I didn't even know he was Canadian. So many people are Canadian. Lydia from Real Housewives of Orange County is also from Canada. The last show I watched they went to Canada on a trip. OKAY ENOUGH about Canada. It's not awesome America... Known as Merica lately. Haha!

Right now I'm spending the night with my niece. She is just so precious. My parents and I came by to my sisters to visit, and I just couldn't leave her. She was crying when I had to run home and get my phone a little while ago. TEAR JERKER!!!!

I will have to post pictures from our get together!

Hair

I've got a problem. Has anyone ever had the long bob, and then it grew out? Ya that's ME! So now I don't know if I should keep letting it grow it whack it off.

I called my hairdresser this morning-- she is off on Mondays, but I left a message. I'm not sure if I want the bob again or if I should cut it all the length of the very back of my hair. :/. Feels pretty short!!!

Btw-- it all means a lot more because I'm leaving for my cruise in TEN DAYS!! (Silent cheers). I have to look nice because I know there will be 120,000 photos of me and the fam while sailing away.
We're just doing the 5 day/ 4 nights again to Cozumel which I love. It's so easy for my dad who is always busy in the oilfield, and my mom, who only has to take off Thursday, Friday, and Monday, so it's a nice little getaway. ;)

The thing with this cruise is----- A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE GOING. Did I say people.. I meant family. It'll be the my immediate family-4 (minus my older sisters family and my niece--I know sad day) and then my dad's brother's family-4, and the Gerdes family-4 who we have cruised with before and always hang out with in town. We go on big summer vacations usually with my uncle's family, or at least I do, so it'll be a new and different experience.
Everyone has been on a number of cruise-- me the most-- except for the other Rives. So there's Uncle Sam, Aunt Cindy, Bekah and JT. She's 16, and he's 10. I think there's a ton to do on a cruise, so everyone SHOULD HAVE the best time ever.

The reason I say should in ALLLLLL CAPS is because with some of the youngsters, there is-- how do I put this-- DRAMA! It's not really the, "He touched me, I'm telling mom" stuff, just can get to be a lot. Kari and I are rooming with each other on a separate floor from anyone else, so I'm not seeing ANY issues arising. UNLESSSSS- she reads too much. But you know what-- it's her vacay too, let her READ if she wants.

So I still haven't fixed my situation with the hair drama, but I will let you know how it goes!

Marriage and Babies

I have so many friends that are getting married and/or having babies right now! People are growing up right before my very eyes!

Graduation

I wasn't sure if I ever added any pictures from graduation so here they are!

A big group came to support me which made me VERY happy! DIVA!

I will be having a church party this month.. a few months after graduation since they only do the church parties in the spring. It will be a fun way to remember that I am awesome and graduated :)!

Mother's Day Gifts for my Special MOMMY

My mom is amazing and was quite spoiled this Mother's Day. I feel like one of my best friends really put it into perspective when she wrote on Facebook that we should be thankful for those in our lives EVERYDAY.
Anyway, Mom got an iPad from Dad and all of us I guess.
A few weeks ago I ordered her TUPPERWARE... I know my MOM! The iPad has been getting a lot of action.. from me! HEHE

The tupperware... I got a 3 piece set of food saver type stuff. One looks like an avacado, a tomato, and an onion. Then I got some little cups with lids (mostly because I knew EMMY would enjoy too, and NANA lives to make her smile).

Hope all the MOMMMMAs were happy on their special day!

NEW DOGS

I have forgotten to share about our 2 NEW dogs.
Bob & Judy Rives have been with us for a few months. My heart broke when my family lost our lab, Shadow (12+) and getting these crazy dogs has helped a lot. Our back yard may look crazy because they are puppies again tearing things up, but I still love them :).

Mom's Avon Walk

My mom is a BREAST CANCER SURVIVOR! I am so proud of her. She has done the AVON WALK so many times now. I hope to be just like her one day!

Niece-PERFECT

I have so many ways to talk about my beautiful niece, Emmy. One of the nicknames she has is PERFECT ANGEL. She is lovely, and I am crazy about her. She is almost 2, and as beautiful (or more) as the day she was born!

4th grade ROCKS

I have so enjoyed teaching 4th grade this semester. Last week for teacher appreciation I was given the cutest little gifts! One of my sweet students made pinterest projects for me, and I was ecstatic.
Next year, I plan to have the perfect classroom with the best organization! HA! I will try my hardest at that! :)
